The following are examples of options that a buyer may request for a custom-built home. Buyer will be assisted by Chris Mullen, PE to plan the desired improvements. Options include:

Energy Saving Options

• Upgraded insulation
• Improved sealing of building envelope, such as detailed sealing around windows/ doors / penetrations and gasketing at electrical / lighting penetrations in drywall
• Enhanced sealing of ductwork
• Equipment efficiencies, 14 SEER and up
• Energy-saving lighting such as compact fluorescent and LED

 

Indoor Air Quality Improvements

• Improved sealing of building envelope to reduce infiltration of dirt and moisture from outside
• Enhanced sealing of duct work
• Upgraded filters such as pleated, electronic or HEPA, electrostatic and electronic
• Fresh air introduced to dilute pollutants
• Closing of crawl space to reduce infiltration of dirt, moisture and odors into house
